Blogging Through Biblical Doctrine
Have you wanted to read a theology book, but haven’t known where to begin? In this series, Jess is blogging through John MacArthur and Richard Mayhue’s book, Biblical Doctrine. Print the study guides at the bottom of each post (or on the Resources page) and follow along!  Also, be sure to join the associated women’s Facebook page to discuss the study with other Christian women.  Finally, if you want to go back and start at the beginning you may find the Introduction article here.

This is the chapter in which I have marked the “halfway point” in our study! Because this is a longer chapter, it’s still nearly sixty pages away, but I thought it was worth mentioning now. Can you believe we have made it this far? I’m so thankful for those of you who have stuck with it. It’s not an easy study. But it is rich and profitable.

In this sixth chapter, “Man and Sin,” we’ll learn about anthropology: man created in God’s image, the human constitution, the origin of the soul, gender, and the biblical theology of man. We’ll also learn about hamartiology: sin and the consequences of the Fall, sin issues, and the biblical theology of sin.

This is a fascinating chapter. This is a chapter that I would say becomes all the richer when studied and discussed with friend. Consider bringing a study buddy in on this one. It will bless you… and her!

Here is your study guide for this week Anthropology & Hamartiology 1.

I’ll see you next week for our discussion on man, made in the image of God.
